Simple ways to make your proposal more magical
If you’re reading this, you’re likely putting all of your thoughts into adding some wow factor into your proposal to your partner.
If you’re stuck on ideas, however, we’re to help. At Valentina engagement rings, we’re not experts in helping you find the perfect ring, but our years in the industry have given us some very helpful tips on how to add some extra romance to your proposal.
So, here are the top tips to make your proposal, extra magical!
Be Vulnerable
Take some time to really think about what you’re going to say when you propose. Instead of just dropping to one knee, and saying those 4 words, take a moment to tell your partner how much they mean to you and how excited you are to spend your life with them. If you’re worried your words will fail you in the heat of the moment, take some time to write some things down so you can share your feelings more confidently.
Make it romantic for you two
There is a difference between general romance and romance for you two as a couple. For example, when planning your proposal, what would be more romantic? The really expensive restaurant in town or the restaurant where you two had your first date? Try to add as many personal touches to your proposal as you can to make it extra special and original!
Take it seriously
We’re all guilty of diverting to humour when we feel uncomfortable and vulnerable. However, this is your proposal. You’re bearing your heart, and asking your partner to spend their life with you. Now is the time to shelve the humour and take the moment seriously. You can relax and enjoy yourself, but this isn’t the time for cracking non-stop jokes.
Get her to look the part
We all like to look our best for special occasions – and your partner is sure to want to look her best when you propose to her. So, bring some help from friends and family to covertly get her nails done (she’ll want this for photos of her hands) as well as any other pampering you may want to treat her to. Also, try to get her into a nice outfit for the day by telling her you’re surprising her to lunch or another cheeky white lie.
Make it all about you two
Don’t fall into the trap of piggybacking someone else’s event – such as a wedding, anniversary, or birthday. Instead, you want your proposal to be the main event so you can enjoy and celebrate your engagement without sharing the spotlight.
Record it
Get the moment on camera! This is a memory you’ll be looking back on for years to come, so why not get a video or some photos that you can enjoy too? If you can, try to get a professional, rather than a friend, to ensure you get the best video possible.
